Description

One for the collectors. This 1873 Winchester saddle ring carbine was made in 1888 and is in reasonable condition for a 134 year old. The blueing is thin all over. The woodwork is in decent condition. The carbine butplate has a sliding cover for an oil bottle cavity. The rifling is clear, but there is evidence of wear on the lands and past corrosion in the grooves. The rear sight is not original.

My father fired a few rounds through the rifle in the late 1960s and it has been in gun cupboard ever since. A great rifle for anyone wanting to extend their lever collection with a genuine 19th century manufacture model.

Given its age, knee action locking and 130 year old metalurgy, I recommend an inspection by a gunsmith before firing.

Buyer to pay transfer fees and postage.
